How to get a Library Card

City Residents


  • Patrons must present an Oregon Driver’s license or an Oregon ID card that is not expired and has a current address.
  • If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must present an Oregon Driver’s license or an Oregon ID card that is not expired and has a current address.
  • There is no library card fee for those who pay City of Astoria property taxes.

Residents Who Live Outside The City Limits

  • Patrons must present an Oregon Driver’s license or an Oregon ID card that is not expired and has a current address.
  • If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must present an Oregon Driver’s license or an Oregon ID card that is not expired and has a current address.
  • Out of town residents who do not pay Astoria City property taxes, may purchase a library card for 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months. Contact library staff for current fees. One Library card fee includes everyone living within a household.


Military personnel, please contact Library staff for Library card requirements.
