Who may borrow books?
Any resident of Clark age three or older
may apply for a library card. We ask for identification,
and for a parent or guardian’s signature
for those under 18. Any person who is a
Clark employee may also apply for a card.
Non-residents may purchase a card for $50.
If a card is lost, a replacement may be purchased
for $1. Stolen or lost cards should be
reported to the library to be canceled.
Patrons are requested to bring their cards
with them when borrowing. Cards should not
be loaned to non-family members.
How Long can I borrow items?
Books, Recorded Books 28 days
CD’s, New Books, Magazines 14 days
New Videotapes and DVD’s 3 days
Boxed Sets of DVD’s & Videotapes
Older DVD’s & Videotapes 7 days
All items EXCEPT new videotapes and DVD’s can be renewed once unless there is a request on
the item.
How Many Items can I Borrow?
You may borrow up to 4 new books, 4 CD’s,
4 recorded books, 4 magazines or 4 DVD’s/
Videotapes on your card. You may check out
25 items in total on your library card.
How are fines assessed?
Books, Recorded Books, Compact Discs, Magazines
10¢ per day overdue to a maximum of $3.00 per item
New Books
25¢ per day overdue to a maximum of $3.00 per item
Videocassettes/DVDs
$1 per day overdue to a maximum of $12.00 per item
Other Charges
Patrons will be charged $5 for each AudioVisual
item returned in the book return. AV items can
only be returned in the library or in the special
AV return slot.
If materials are lost or damaged, the library will
charge a $5.00 service charge in addition to replacement
costs for the item.
The library will send you a notice when items
are overdue 2 weeks. After 3 overdue notices,
the library may refer charges to a credit company
for collection. Patron’s privileges will be
suspended when fines or other charges reach $10.
Rules of conduct
Rules of Conduct as adopted by the Board of
Trustees are posted in the library. Any patron
who disregards these rules may be asked to leave
the library.
Children seven and younger must be attended
by an adult while in the library. Older children
may be asked to leave if they can not follow the
rules of conduct.
May I reserve materials?
All material that can be checked out of
the library can be reserved.
You may ask staff to reserve an item
for you, or you can place the reserve
using our library catalog in the library or
on our web page.
We can hold reserved items for you for
up to 3 business days. After that time,
the item may be given to the next person
on the reserve list. Reserves placed by
persons residing in Clark will be filled
first.
If you do not find an item in our catalog
you may request the title by speaking
with a librarian. The librarian will attempt
to get the material for you either
by purchasing the item for our collection,
or by borrowing the item from another
library.
Did you know………..
That the Clark Library is a member of
MURAL (Middlesex-Union Reciprocal
Associated Libraries)? You can use your
library card to borrow library material at
any of the other MURAL libraries. For
