This program is designed to provide library materials to anyone who is a resident of Clark Township and is confined to their home or a convalescent center due to illness, injury or disability. Each homebound patron is individually profiled and matched with a volunteer on a one-to-one basis. Library staff will select library material for the homebound patron based on their reading requirements and preferences. Materials may include large-type books, audio books, music CDs and DVDs. As library material is loaned for a four week period, new and other high demand items will not be included in this service. Homebound patrons may elect to use a relative or friend as their volunteer contact with the library. Volunteers will be recruited to assist in the delivery of materials for any homebound patron without a contact to help with the delivery of the service. Volunteers recruited by the library will undergo a basic criminal check by local police officials. Library fines will not be applied to a homebound person’s account, however users are responsible for the cost of lost or damaged library material. The Homebound Services Librarian will be the point of contact for all services to the homebound customer for lost and overdue materials.
