Safe Child Policy

The Duplin County Library welcomes children of all ages.  It is a doorway through which life-long learning takes place.  The library, however, is a public place where anyone can enter.  In an effort to keep all children who use the library safe from harm, the following policy has been established:

While visiting the library, all children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent, mentor, or other caregiver no less than 16 years of age.  They may not be left at or allowed to remain in the library unattended.  The responsible caregiver will monitor the child's behavior, stay with him or her at all times while in the library, be available to tend to any emergencies, and respond to any disruptive behavior by the child.
