Welcome to the Ralph C. Staiger Library. Our goal is to supply information essential to IRA research initiatives by providing staff members with access to research articles, reports, and monographs. Visitors may conduct on-site research using our broad range of materials on reading and related subjects. Photocopying is available. Please call in advance to schedule an appointment.

The library was established in April 1969, and formally named “The Ralph C. Staiger Library” at a dedication ceremony on December 27, 1984. Dr. Staiger was one of the founding members of the International Reading Association, and served as the organization’s executive director from 1962 to 1984. Dr. Staiger was deeply interested in global education issues and the improvement of reading instruction worldwide.
