Sharecropping

Author Lillian Laird Duff and her daughter and co-author Linda Duff Niemeir will share their family's history as documented in their book "Sharecropping In North Louisiana: A Family's Struggle Through the Great Depression". Lillian's vivid descriptions of growing up as the daughter of sharecroppers during a time when people got by on what they had and when simple pleasures such as enjoying a home cooked meal with family were treasured. Copies of the book will be sold and the authors will be available to sign them. This program is part of our "Triumph Over Tragedy: North Louisiana in the Great Depression and New Deal Era" series.
