Library News

Many thanks to Dan & Laura Block and family for their donation to the library in memory of their son David, the library is now making specific purchases for Bridges, our online e-book collection. Use of our e-books has rapidly increased since COVID, and we average over 200 checkouts per month. Please contact the library if you have a book suggestion for us to consider.

**DATE CHANGE**Local Saint Ansgar author Gail Kittleson will visit the library May26th at 5:00 pm. Please stop in for her program to hear about the books she’s published since visiting us almost three years ago. Gail taught college expository writing and ESL before she began writing women’s historical fiction. The library already has her Women of the Heartland series, so stop in and get started on the series today!

Friday morning story times are on a break until June. We will have a story time offered at the Worth County Fair!  Join us Friday June 17th at 2:00 pm or Saturday June 18th at 9:30 am for some stories, bingo, and a craft.

Our Summer Reading program plans are in full swing! I am hoping to visit the schools to share our calendar of events before the kids get out for summer break. If you want to stay in the loop with all the action, please make sure to join our special Facebook group to get all of the updates. https://www.facebook.com/groups/278686796498248

If you noticed the advertisement in the newspaper for a new library director, then you figured out that I’ll be leaving the library at summer’s end. I am excited to be joining the faculty at Northwood-Kensett Schools to help educate our middle schoolers. I’ve loved my time here at the library, and I’ll miss all of the many experiences and wonderful people who visit us here. Thanks for all of the wonderful support over the past 5 years! I specifically want to thank my library board, staff, other city of Northwood employees, and of course the patrons! I will see you around town!
