October 2024 Northwood Public Library News
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers!” is a quote from the book “Anne of Green Gables” by L.M. Montgomery.
We have three Friday morning Story Times scheduled in October. They will start at 10:00 on Friday October 4th, October 11th (Homecoming fun!) and October 25th (Halloween fun!). Story Time is geared for toddler and preschool age, but babies are welcome too! It’s a fun time for kids to socialize together, learn about sitting quietly for a short story or two, have some fun coloring and playing with the library toys. Parents and caregivers can enjoy some chit chat too! Please watch the library’s Facebook page for more information.
On Thursday October 17th, we will have a special kids program with Teresa Stehn from Worth County Farm Bureau. She will be coming at 5:00 to help us celebrate National Pizza Month! It will be fun (and yummy!) so we hope to see you there!
The library has two different book clubs that participate in a monthly reading and discussion. If this is anything that sounds interesting to you, don’t hesitate to reach out at the library for more information!
Coming to the library sometime during the month of October:
Adult Fiction books: “The Wedding Witch” by Erin Sterling, “The Sound of a Thousand Stars” by Rachel Robbins, “The Waiting” by Michael Connelly, “In Too Deep” by Lee Child, “The Grey Wolf” by Louise Penny, and lots more.
Large Print Fiction: “Triangle” by Danielle Steel, “The Colony Club” by Shelley Noble, “The Booklovers Library” by Madeline Martin, “By Evening’s Light” by Leslie Gould, “Before We Were Us” by Denise Hunter, “The Sawmill Book Club” by Carolyn Brown, “Wealth of Shadows” by Graham Moore, and more.
I’ve been posting some pictures of the new books to the Northwood Public Library’s Facebook page, so don’t forget to “Like” the page to be notified when we put more new books out throughout the month.
