Welcome to the Owen County Public Library located in Owenton, KY. The library is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed Sunday. For more information, contact the library at 502-484-3450.

Kentucky Authors, Jim Pirtle and Schirmer Riley, will be signing copies of their book, Two Pilots One Engine - Flight Around the World In A Single Engine Comanche on Monday, November 23rd from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Stop by to meet and greet these local authors and hear them tell their story.

Bring the entire family for an exciting adventure of the Free Family Movie, Up, on Tuesday, November 24th at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided and all ages are welcome to attend.

Teresa and Esmee from Hazelwood Farms return just in time for the holidays to show us how to make greenery baskets for our home on Monday, November 30th at 5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be provided and all ages are welcome.

Start your holiday off right by attending Holiday Meal Planning on a Budget with Lexington‘s Herald-Leader food columnist, Sharon Thompson on Tuesday, December 1st at 6:00 p.m. at the Owen County Public Library. Pick up a free copy of her Healthy Living cookbook or purchase one of her other cookbooks, Flavors of Kentucky or Recipes from a Kentucky Blackberry Patch at the program.

Calling all book lovers to join others for our latest Books @ Noon Book Club discussion over Big Stone Gap , by Adriana Trigiani on Friday, December 4th at noon. Meet new friends and talk about your favorite book.

Moms, take a break from the kids and bring in your delectable homemade treats and swap with friends for a wide variety of holiday assorted goodies for the Holiday Cookie Exchange at the Owen County Public Library on Thursday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. Each participant needs to bring in TWO DOZEN cookies along with the recipe. If you would like, share a story that goes along with the cookie or a favorite Christmas memory!

Drop by the library to learn about the new voting machines for the 2010 elections during Voter and Candidate Training on December 15th at 6:00 p.m. Complete a practice ballot that shows how the new e-Slate voting machine will work, so you can be comfortable knowing you have correctly cast your vote. Find websites to educate yourself about campaign finance.

Bring the entire family to a wonderful Christmas movie as we show Santa Buddies for our latest FREE family movie at the Owen County Public Library on Thursday, December 17th at 5:30 p.m. Time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! All ages are welcome to attend! Refreshments provided.

Calling all teens to play Halo at the library for ages 14-25. Bring your X-box, X-box 360, game, TV, or controllers. We will link them for some great HALO action on Saturday, December 26th, 2009 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Refreshments provided.
