The regular monthly meeting of the Owen County Public Library Board of Trustees was held at the Library on October 16, 2009. Trustees in attendance were Trinkle, Derringer, Ball, Bush, and Cobb. Also in attendance were Director Nippert, Regional Library Consultant, Charlotte McIntosh, Larry Brandstetter and Monica Sumner with Brandstetter, Carroll, Inc., Chris Bishoff with KDLA, Frank Downing with the Owen Industrial Board, Chip Sutherland with Hillard Lyons, and Dave Jones, Realtor.

President Trinkle called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. Minutes from the September 18, 2009 regular meeting were unanimously approved. Director Nippert presented the financial report and list of disbursements. Bush moved that the disbursements be approved and the motion was seconded by Ball. The motion was unanimously approved.

Charlotte McIntosh presented the regional Librarian’s report and Director Nippert presented the Library Director’s Report.

Frank Downing presented details regarding land available for sale by the Industrial Board off of Hwy 127 North as a possible site for the new library. Dave Jones also presented details regarding land for sale owned by him and his wife off of 127 North as another possible library building site.

Chip Sutherland presented a historical and proforma calculation of revenues available for debt service for the Owen Co. Library.

Larry Brandstetter and Monica Sumner reviewed the architectural contract with Brandstetter, Carroll, Inc, highlighting the various construction phases.

Ball moved to submit the Fiscal Accountability Agreement to KDLA in order for Owen Co. Library to continue to receive State Aid. The motion was seconded by Derringer and unanimously approved.

There being no further business Cobb moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Derringer and unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 11:55 a.m.

The next regular meeting of the Owen County Library board will be November 20, 2009 at 9:30 a.m.
