ROANOKE RAPIDS PUBLIC LIBRARY REMAINS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF A COMMUNITY-LEVEL OUTBREAK OF COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS).  THE LIBRARY, AS OF MONDAY, MAY 18, IS OFFERING CURBSIDE OR FRONT DOOR CHECKOUT OF LIBRARY MATERIALS, COPIES (LIMIT OF 20) AND TAX FORMS.  THE BOOK DROP LOCATED OFF OF ROANOKE AVENUE WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR THE RETURN OF LIBRARY MATERIAL.  UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, THE LIBRARY WILL NOT ACCEPT DONATED MATERIAL.  FINES ACCRUED AS A RESULT OF THIS CLOSURE WILL BE WAIVED.  PLEASE CALL THE LIBRARY AT (252) 533-2890 AND SELECT 4 ABOUT LIBRARY SERVICES.

Library Reopening

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library will reopen its facility to the public beginning Wednesday, July 1 at 10 am.  The revised operating schedule will be 10 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday.  There will be a limit of 10 patrons at a time during Phase 2 of the State's and City's reopening plan.  Masks or face coverings are required to enter the Library per Governor Cooper's Executive Order 147.  Library staff will inform patrons of updated procedure when visiting. 

Library Closed July 3

  • The Library will be closed Friday, July 3 in observance of the Fourth of July Holiday.  

Summer Learning Program Registration

  • Please call the Library at (252) 533-2890 or email us at rrpl@roanokerapidsnc.com for information about registering for the Summer Learning Program.  The program starts on Thursday, June 4 and will continue through Thursday, July 16.  Imagine your own story and join in the pleasure of reading.  The program is for students entering the first through the eighth grades in the fall.

NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has two new digital collections through OverDrive.  NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital can be accessed with a valid Roanoke Rapids library card and a PIN number.  Contact the Library for more information.

E-Book Program

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has a collection of e-books for its patrons through NC LIVE.  The NC LIVE Homegrown E-book Collection has over 1,200 titles to chose and are provided with the cooperation of varied NC publishers.  While these titles are not many of the current best sellers, the Library is hoping eventually to expand our e-book collection.  Take a look by clicking the link on the home page in the lower right corner.  You must have a RRPL card to access the collection.  Contact the Library for more information.
