Fifth Wednesday Preschool Storytime

  • Wednesday, September 30, 2020 @ 10:30 am  This program will be outdoors in the park adjacent to the Library.  Library Assistant Ruby Mason will read "How Chipmunk Got His Stripes" by Joseph Bruchac.  Chippy, the Parks and Recreation mascot, is scheduled to attend.  Attendees should practice physical distancing.  If there is inclement weather, the program will be cancelled since presently we cannot have it indoors.  There is a limit of 20 inside the facility for now for those who wish to enter the library before or after the program.  Call the Library at 252-533-2890 between 10 am and 3 pm and select prompt 4 for more information.

Library Reopening

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library reopened its facility to the public on Wednesday, July 1 at 10 am.  The revised operating schedule will be 10 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday.  There is a limit of 20 patrons at a time during Phase 2.5 of the State's and City's reopening plan.  Masks or face coverings are required for people ages 5 and up to enter the Library per Governor Cooper's Executive Order 163.  Library staff will inform patrons of updated procedure when visiting. 

NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has two new digital collections through OverDrive.  NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital can be accessed with a valid Roanoke Rapids library card and a PIN number.  Contact the Library for more information.

E-Book Program

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has a collection of e-books for its patrons through NC LIVE.  The NC LIVE Homegrown E-book Collection has over 1,200 titles to chose and are provided with the cooperation of varied NC publishers.  While these titles are not many of the current best sellers, the Library is hoping eventually to expand our e-book collection.  Take a look by clicking the link on the home page in the lower right corner.  You must have a RRPL card to access the collection.  Contact the Library for more information.
