Thanksgiving Holiday Closure

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Book drops will be open for the return of library material.  The Library will reopen at 10 am on Monday, November 30.

Library Revised Schedule

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library will observe the following schedule beginning on Monday, November 2.  The revised operating schedule will be 10 am - 3 pm, Monday, Wednesday & Friday & 1 pm - 6 pm, Tuesday & Thursday.  There is a limit of 10 patrons at a time during Phase 3 of the State's and City's reopening plan beginning Monday, November 16.  Masks or face coverings are required for people ages 5 and up to enter the Library per Governor Cooper's Executive Order 163.  Library staff will inform patrons of updated procedures when visiting. 

Facebook Preschool Storytime

  • Library staff records a story with songs and fingerplay for broadcast weekly through the Facebook page of the Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation Department.  The story are usually posted late Wednesday morning.  A corresponding coloring page is available with the program.

NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has two new digital collections through OverDrive.  NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital can be accessed with a valid Roanoke Rapids library card and a PIN number.  Contact the Library for more information.

E-Book Program

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has a collection of e-books for its patrons through NC LIVE.  The NC LIVE Homegrown E-book Collection has over 1,200 titles to chose and are provided with the cooperation of varied NC publishers.  While these titles are not many of the current best sellers, the Library is hoping eventually to expand our e-book collection.  Take a look by clicking the link on the home page in the lower right corner.  You must have a RRPL card to access the collection.  Contact the Library for more information.
