ROANOKE RAPIDS PUBLIC LIBRARY IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC TO CONTINUE TAKING EXTRA PRECAUATIONS TO PLAN AND PREPARE FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF A COMMUNITY-LEVEL OUTBREAK OF COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS).  EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, THE LIBRARY AND OTHER ROANOKE RAPIDS PARKS AND RECREATION FACILITIES WILL BE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  THIS INCLUDES PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL EVENTS.  THE BOOK DROP OFF OF ROANOKE AVENUE WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR THE RETURN OF LIBRARY MATERIAL.  UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, THE LIBRARY WILL NOT ACCEPT DONATED MATERIAL.  FINES ACCRUED AS A RESULT OF THIS CLOSURE WILL BE WAIVED.  PLEASE CALL THE PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR INFORMATION AND QUESTIONS ABOUT SPECIFIC FACILITIES, PROGRAMS AND EVENTS AT (252) 537-2847.  PLEASE CALL THE LIBRARY AT (252) 533-2890 AND SELECT 4 ABOUT LIBRARY PROGRAMS AND EVENTS.

NC Digital and NC KiDS Digital

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has two new digital collections through OverDrive.  NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital can be access with a valid Roanoke Rapids library card and a PIN number. Contact or visit the Library for more information.

Kindles

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now circulates Kindles.  Visit or call the Library for more information.  The Kindles and e-book loaded on these devices were purchased with a LSTA EZ Technology Grant from the State Library of North Carolina.

E-Book Program

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has a collection of e-books for its patrons through NC LIVE.  The NC LIVE Homegrown E-book Collection has over 1,200 titles to chose and are provided with the cooperation of varied NC publishers.  While these titles are not many of the current best sellers, the Library is hoping eventually to expand our e-book collection.  Take a look by clicking the link on the home page in the lower right corner.  You must have a RRPL card to access the collection.  Contact the Library for more information.
