How do I get a library card?
Provide valid picture identification.
How many items may I check out at a time?
New patrons may check out three items at a time during the first three months of membership.
How long may I keep borrowed items?
Items may be checked out for three weeks.
If I do not return materials on time, what are the extended use fees?
Patrons are charged the price of the item until it is returned, or paid for. If a patron owes more than $50.00 on his/her account the account is blocked.
How can I recheck materials without coming into the library?
Use your personal online account at www.youseemore.com/ruidosopl. Please click on the "my account" link to renew materials from any computer.
We discourage telephone renewals, but if you are out of town and do not have Internet access; you may call 505-258-3704, and press the extension for Adult, or Children's Services, to renew materials.
Does the library offer computers for public use?
Yes, you may use a computer for one hour per day. There is a fee of 10 cents per page for printing. Please use pay for print boxes.
May I return materials after hours?
Yes, there is a book drop in front of the library. The book drop is emptied each morning. Book/Audio checkout

Library Tours & Orientation
Staff cannot provide individual in-depth training concerning personal computer or Internet use. We recommend users consult available books about computer use. Staff may be able to offer suggestions or answer basic questions. The Archive Room houses a New Mexico History Collection and Genealogy Collection. Both collections are rich in Lincoln County history. A database of photographs available through the Lincoln County Historical Society, photographs of Old Ruidoso, a microfilm/fiche reader/printer, and a low vision reader are also available in the Archive Room.
Donations of materials about Ruidoso and Lincoln County are always appreciated.
The library has an excellent Southwest Collection as part of the regular collection for three-week checkout. Ruidoso Public Library began in 1954 when the Ruidoso Women's Club offered a small collection of donated books for public use. Several years later the books were turned over to the village where they were first housed in the Ruidoso Municipal Building and then transferred to a small room at the original Municipal Airport.
A new library building was erected in 1974 on Sudderth Drive. This building included an area for the Ruidoso Senior Center.
In 1998 the present 14,600 square foot library at 107 Kansas City Road was built, and the old library is now completely occupied by Ruidoso Senior Center.
The present library includes an Archive Room, a Conference Room, a complete Children's Library and 33 computers for different types of public use.
