Groundbreaking occured on May 13, 2003
Moving day: 1/10/04:
Community members of all ages helped move all the books and equipment from the old Shirley Road location to the newChurch Street location in Summit Point.
Preparation included installation of new stacks and equipment:
Ribbon Cutting:
a short ribbon cutting ceremony was held for invited guests on Sunday, February 8, 2004. Library Board members, County Commissioners Al Hooper and Jane Tabb, members of the South Jefferson Ruritan Club, Sports Car Club of America and other guests enjoyed touring the new facility followed by some light refreshments in the new community meeting room.
The new sign is installed at the intersection of Summit Point Road and Church Street in Summit Point.
Grand Opening and Dedication was held under sunny skies on April 17, 2004.
