Obtaining a Library Card

Although the library is solely supported by the City of Temple, as a courtesy, anyone residing within Texas can obtain a free library card by providing a picture I.D. and proof of their current address. Acceptable forms of proof include a Texas driver’s license or I.D., a voter’s registration card, a lease, an insurance card, or a utility or other bill, with their name on it, which has been mailed to the current address. Parents must sign for children under 16. There is a $2 charge to replace a lost library card.

New Users
When a patron gets his/her first card from the Temple Public Library he/she will be considered a New Patron for the first week. New Patrons are limited to four items and may not check out videos. After a week, if all items have been returned, a New Patron will be changed to a regular patron type and will have full library privileges.
