ADULT LIBRARY CARDS:
Adult cards are issued to people age 14 & up.
An adult must live, work or go to school in the Parish.
Valid Louisiana driver's license/ID card with current address is required when applying for:
1. new card
2. renewal card
3. replacement card
Students 14 & up that don't have a driver's license can use a school ID & any piece of mail with parent's name & address for proof of identification.
Applicants who do not live but work in the parish must present the following 2 items:
1. Valid Louisiana driver's license or ID card with current address AND
2. Letterhead from employer or business card or paycheck stub
Applicants from other parishes may obtain a West Baton Rouge Parish library card by presenting the following 2 items:
1. Permission slip from their parish library AND
2. Valid Louisiana driver's license or ID card with current address
Applicants who do not have the above qualifications & do not have a valid Louisiana driver's license or ID card with current address:
1. $25.00 refundable CASH deposit required
2. Deposit fully refunded when card relinquished & items returned
3. Permanent card issued & deposit refunded when patron obtains a VALID LOUISIANA DRIVER'S LICENSE OR ID CARD
JUVENILE LIBRARY CARDS:
Juvenile cards are issued to children from birth through age 13 provided that a parent/guardian assumes responsibility for materials checked out.
Child must live or go to school in the Parish, OR Parent/Guardian must live or work in the parish to obtain a library card.
The parent/guardian must have a valid Louisiana driver's license/ID card with current address for proof of identity when applying for their child's:
1. new card
2. renewal card
3. replacement card
Parent/Guardian must sign the child's application card.
Students who do not live in the parish but go to school here must present one of the following:
1. Lunch card OR
2. Library verification slip signed by school official
Children from other parishes may obtain a West Baton Rouge Parish library card by presenting the following 2 items:
1. Permission slip from their parish library AND
2. Parent's valid Louisiana driver's license or ID card with current address
Children who do not have the above qualifications & whose parent/guardian do not have a valid Louisiana driver's license or ID card with current address:
1. $25.00 refundable CASH deposit required
2. Deposit fully refunded when card relinquished & items returned: |
