The Adair County Public Library will begin offering browsing appointments on Monday March 1, 2021.  Patrons must call ahead to schedule an appointment. The library will welcome 10 patrons in for half hour appointments beginning at 9 a.m.  After thirty minutes the patrons will leave. A new group will be let in every half hour. Masks are required for patrons older than age 8. Curbside pick-up is the only option for people not wearing masks.  Masks are encouraged for children 2-8. Patrons will be able to select materials and check out. Patrons may also make copies and use faxing/scanning services.

The library will continue to offer one-hour computer appointments. Those appointments must be scheduled in advance. Curbside printing and copying will also be offered.

Curbside pick up will remain an option for patrons. The curbside process will not change. Materials will still be quarantined for four days before being cleaned and checked in. Fines are not being charged at this time.

The library will be using the Adair County Covid19 Tracker on the Complete Family Medicine website. The address is The library will use these levels as guidance. The browsing and computer appointments will be offered as long as the Covid Risk Level stays at a Level 2. The library will offer only curbside if cases rise. If cases decline, the library will move towards reopening with less restrictions. We will be monitoring the risk levels closely. Call the library at 665-6038 to make an appointment or for more information.

Library Director Jami Livingston states, “We want to see our patrons, we need our patrons and staff to stay safe. Please follow social distancing guidelines and other health precautions as you come to the library. Stay home if you are sick. Wear your mask, we do have disposable ones available for patrons if they need one.”

Hours will be Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Browsing appointments will not be available during the last half hour of operations.
