Friends of the Library

Friends Upcoming Events:
  • Book Sale Saturday, October 4, noon-3 p.m.
  • Friends Annual Meeting Thursday, October 16, 6 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church 300 W. Washington St. Pie and coffee will be served while author Carolyn Mulford discusses her book "The Feedsack Dress." Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the Adair County Public Library or from the Friends officers.
  • Book Discussion Tuesday, October 28, 6 p.m. "Things They Carried" by Tim O'Brien Discussion Leader: Ralph Cupelli, Lt. Col., (Ret.)

    The Friends of the Adair County Public Library are dedicated to supporting the goal of the Adair County Public Library—to provide the best possible library service for all citizens of Adair County.
  • The functions of the Friends of the Library are subject to the wishes and approval of the Library Board of Trustees and the Library Director.

    Friends of the Library:
    • Serve as liaison to the community
    • Encourage donations and bequests
    • Fund special needs
    • Organize and operate the book sales
    • Sponsor book discussion groups
    • Sponsor programs
    • Support the Children’s Summer Reading Program
    • Help publicize Library activities and needs
    • Encourage volunteers
    Friends of the Library is a non-profit organization.
