The hard-hit Detroit area saw a big jump in Iraqi refugees from other U.S. cities as the national economy eroded during the past year, according to a Michigan-based refugee resettlement agency. Bahoo, 29, came to Michigan in July 2008 just a few days after arriving in Atlanta.Tens of thousands have fled Michigan's troubled economy in recent years, yet Iraqi refugees continue to move there despite a U.S. government policy trying to limit refugee resettlement in the Detroit area.
