Catalog
The card catalog is now a computer catalog. The staff is more than happy to show you how to use the catalog and to locate materials on the shelves. Search the online catalog.
Information
Do you need answers to reference questions? Come in to the library, call for information or click on the link for information. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will gladly find the information you need.
Meeting Room
The meeting room is available free of charge for public gatherings of a civic, informational or educational nature. Civic clubs holding regular meetings at the library may schedule the meetings a year at a time. Check at the circulation desk for further information.
Office Services - word processing, faxing, computing, ...
The library offers free public access to computers for word processing and web surfing. Printing, copying and fax services are available for a nominal fee.
There are currently 7 computers downstairs, one of which is reserved for word processing. The 2 computers upstairs are reserved for children. Patrons under the age of 14 must have an adult supervise internet use at all times. Computer use is timed and on a first-come basis.
Although computer disks may not be brought into the library, they are available for purchase at the circulation desk for $0.75 each.
Printouts from the word processing programs or from the web and photocopying cost $0.25 a page. Copying from the microfilm reader/printer costs $0.25 per page. Faxes to U.S. numbers are $2.00 for the first page, and $0.50 for subsequent pages to the same number.
Children’s Services
Children in Coahoma County are the lucky ones! They have a friendly area dedicated to them at the library. There is a Summer Reading Program each summer for students in grades 1-6, and for preschoolers, there is a summer story time. Also, check out our links to kid’s sites.
Outreach
The Carnegie Public Library offers Interlibrary loans, access to publications for the blind and physically handicapped, and service to Flowers Manor Retirement Facility. If you are interested in any outreach services, contact the library.
