How to do Research

Chippewa River District Library has many resources available for your research needs. They include print material, such as books and periodicals, subscription electronic databases covering many subject areas, and access to Internet sources.

While this page is intended to make it easier for you to find the information you need, please remember that our Reference Librarians are available to assist you. You can also email us with questions if you can't make it into the Library!

Print Materials

Books & Periodicals - Use our Library Catalog to search for materials available at the Veterans Memorial Library or one of our branches. Remember, these materials can be transferred between branches for your convenience.

Electronic Databases

CRDL subscribes to many Internet based services that provide excellent quality, easy-to-use reference information. Use the Web Resources button on our Web pages to access these resources.  Our PowerSearch feature searches magazine and newspaper resources as well as our Virtual Reference collection of encyclopedias. Periodical Articles

Interlibrary Loan

CRDL offers its patrons the chance to draw from a wealth of resources owned by other libraries across Michigan through the new statewide catalog – MelCat. Our Interlibrary Loan Service is free and easy to access.  Click here for more detailed instructions.
