After swallowing the moon ("with a dish and a spoon"), a goofy-looking martian ingests cow, comet, spaceship, rover, Mars, and, finally, the sun ("This Martian is done!"). The original song's speculative refrain is here reduced to nonsense ("Blast off! / Beep! Beep! / Zoom!") and grows tiresome. The garishly colored illustrations have a hyperactive quality befitting the zany antics of the rhyming text. (c) Copyright 2015. The Horn Book, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
