Interlibrary loans are designed to assist patrons in receiving their requested items, even if Eckhart Public Library does not have them. Most requests can be obtained from other libraries. It is easy and convenient- fill out a request, after receiving a phone call- come to the reference desk to pick up the item, then return it to the reference desk.
Please remember:
• Interlibrary loan requests are available to Eckhart Public Library cardholders only.
• Reciprocal cardholders from Waterloo and Butler must submit from their home libraries.
• Please limit your book requests to books that have been published for at least 6 months.
• We are unable to process requests for books already owned or on order by Eckhart Public Library.
• Limit of 5 requests per week.
• The length of the loan period is determined by the lending library not Eckhart Public Library.
• It may take 2-4 weeks (sometimes longer) to receive your requested materials.
• If materials can not be found at an Indiana library, patrons may agree to pay a small postage fee to obtain the material from an out of state library.
• Please fill out a request form at the reference desk.
• Habitual offenders (overdues, submitting requests and then never picking up the items, refusing to pay shipping charges, etc.) may lose privileges.
