Internet
Internet service is accessible from 27 public access computers for Email, research and informational searching. A station is provided for individuals with handicap disabilities. All computers have CAC readers. Files may be downloaded to a blank disk, thumb drives, or printed out at no charge. Printing is limited to ten pages daily. Sleeping on the computers stations and others unapropriate behaviors are prohibited in our facility. The Library can provide a free blank disk at no charge, or lend you a thumb drive if needed. Cell phone usage is prohibited in the library, including the computer lab area.

Wireless access
Wireless internet service is available through a nonsecure network. Wireless laptop computers can be used throughout our floor space at any convenient place. A color printer that you can connect to your laptops is available by the magazine area.

Computer Use Policy
Patrons must have an Eglin library account in good standing to use the Internet computers. TDY or eligible visitors may present a DoD-issued ID card to obtain visitor access. Children must be at least 15 years old to use the Internet by themselves. Children 10 thru 14 year of age must have a waiver signed by their parents or guardian on file with the library staff in order to use a computer. Children ages 9 and under may share a computer with an adult. Failure to follow printed guidelines or directions from librarians may result in loss of access privileges.

On-line Databases/Research
Subscription research services such as Infotrac, Jane's-on-line, Newsbank, SIRS and others provide scholarly information suitable for study and research. Full text articles are included in most databases with archives from 5 to 20 years available. All subscription products are accessible in the library; many may be accessed remotely with passwords obtained from the librar. Call for details. Library customers may download or print articles at no charge with a daily print limit of 10 pages on Library printers. Librarians are happy to give you a database demonstration at any time.

Word Processing/Spreadsheets/Presentations
Software programs such as MS Office suite 2007 allow patrons to type papers, create spreadsheets and Powerpoint presentations.
