How do I put an item on hold?

An item may be held upon request if the item is checked out.  Requested items, by phone or electronically, that are currently checked in will be pulled from the shelves as soon as is practicable for assigned desk staff.  After the patron has been notified, the item will be held for five (5) working days.  No more than ten (10) items may be placed on hold on any account.  Patrons may not request holds on items of a specific type in excess of what can be checked out at one time e.g. only three (3) DVDs may be checked out at one time so only three (3) DVDs may be on hold at one time.
