Common Business Agreements to Avoid Mistakes
Biz Training, the MUM year long series of workshops and seminars funded by the USDA, is proud to announce a free Lunch and Learn talk with Jay Marcus entitled Common Business Agreements to Avoid Mistakes – for Startups and Mature Companies on Thursday, June 28 at noon in the Fairfield Public Library Meeting Room.
The seminar will discuss tax and other mistakes that can be avoided in issuing stock, keeping key employees through vesting agreements and options, protecting the company’s assets from departing employees, and key considerations in limiting company liability and protecting the company with insurance contracts.
Jay Marcus is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law and has been a corporate and securities lawyer for more than 40 years, practicing first at a large law firm in New York, then in Los Angeles, and in Fairfield since 1982. He has taught continuing legal education courses for attorneys in corporate law and in ethics, and for three years was chairman of the permanent Ethics Committee for business lawyers in Iowa.
