SCIENCE CAFE

Join Dr. David Cwiertny, Professor of Environmental Engineering and Director of the Center for Health Effects of Environmental Contamination at the University of Iowa, to discuss water quality.

What’s in your water? Dr. Cwiertny will focus on the links between drinking water quality and public health. He will highlight current and emerging issues in drinking water quality across the United States, with a focus on common challenges with drinking water in Iowa and their associated health risks.

Science Cafes are free public events that bring people together in a casual setting to discuss interesting and current science topics. Speakers are professional scientists who strive to keep the content accessible to the general public, while a moderator assists with group dynamics. What began as a grassroots movement to help scientists engage with local communities has expanded into hundreds of sites around the world.

Join us for free organic popcorn and a lively discussion!
