Intercultural consultant Tom Morgan will focus on the importance of cultural awareness as a basis for understanding and interacting with people from other backgrounds. His four-part series “Developing Global Mindset” will focus on the dynamics of intercultural communication. Learn how you can develop higher levels of intercultural competence or “global mindset” needed in today’s interconnected world.

October 1 at 7:30 pm: What is Culture, and Why is it Such a Big Deal?
We learn “culture” from our parents, family, friends, colleagues, the media and so forth. Culture is defined as a shared set of preferred values, beliefs, attitudes, assumptions and behaviors that define the way of life of a group. It becomes part of our sense of identity that we take with us as we interact with others and go through our lives. But for most of us, our cultural identities are almost entirely unconscious.

October 10 at 7:30 pm: How to Unlock the Hidden Logic of Different Cultures

October 16 at 7:30 pm: The Human Journey: Graduating from Ethnocentrism and Developing Global Mindset

October 23 at 7:30 pm: United States/India Cultural Differences
