Back by popular demand, Naveed Abassi will offer another series of Biz Training workshops on the use of QuickBooks. Each session will be two hours long; scheduled for October 11 and 18.

Naveed Abbasi is a full-time faculty and the Director of the MBA Accounting & SAP Finance program in the College of Business Administration at Maharishi University of Management. Naveed likes to innovate teaching and curricula development. He currently teaches graduate level courses in accounting, accounting Information Systems, enterprise resource planning, business analytics, advanced excel for business professionals, financial modelling and extensive business reporting language.

He has taught accounting information systems such as QuickBooks to accountants and non-accountants for many years. Naveed also has over 15 years of experience in the industry as an accountant, controller, business analyst, and business strategy & process improvement specialist.





Course Objectives: The goal of the course is to provide familiarity with QuickBooks accounting program to participants with or without any accounting background. Participants will gain confidence in QuickBooks by using its basic functions and practical experience in solving common accounting problems. The participants will identify, contextualizes and resolves problems that are either self-induced or brought on by the dynamic and ever-changing business environment.

A secondary goal of the course is to gain an appreciation of the power of QuickBooks to dynamically inter-relate diverse accounting tasks, thereby insuring internal consistency and accuracy of financial reports.

Quickbooks Workshop Schedule:

Thursday, October 11-(1:00-3:00pm) Registration & Company setup in QuickBooks. Creating Vendors/Suppliers and recording the expenses e.g. rent, utilities, office expenses etc. Creating list of items (inventory) and recording purchasing transactions into QuickBooks. Run basic expense reports

Thursday, October 18 -(1:00-3:00pm) Creating Customers and recording Sales transactions into QuickBooks. Sales tax, Independent contractors (1099 vendors), Run basic Sales reports, and Payroll Taxes (if time permits).

Requirements: It is recommended that all participate bring their laptop (with the capability of connecting to the internet via Library's Wi-Fi) and a valid email address.
