Circulation Policies

BOOK CIRCULATION POLICY
AUGUST 1988
REVISITED OCTOBER 2001



Books are circulated for a 14-day period

Books may be renewed for an additional 14-day period if not reserved

One renewal only-14 days

Reserves may be placed on any book in the library including Best Sellers, books will be held 3 days only after patron is notified. Patron must fill out reserve card including phone number.

Limit 6 books per patron

Some materials may be designated for longer or shorter periods of time due to demand of said materials.

Reference books may not be checked out

Patron must have valid library card in hand to check out library materials

Patron must be in good standing with no fines or overdue library materials

Fines for overdue materials:

ADULT BOOKS:
Ten cents per book/per day----Maximum fine per book $10.00

EASY/JUVENILLE BOOKS:
Five cents per day/per book----maximum fine $5.00

When a patron fails to return books, he/she shall be responsible for reimbursing the library cost of said materials not returned plus a $3.00 service fee in lieu of fine.

All library privileges will be canceled if rules are not obeyed


VIDEO/DVD POLICY

Home use only; not to be shown to public groups

Video/DVD check out for 3 days only

No renewals

Videos/DVD's will not be reserved, first come first serve

Patrons under 18 years of age may only check out VHS/DVD with rating of G and PG, if parent or guardian gives written consent for the child in person accepting full responsibility.

Limit 3 videos/DVD's per card per check out

Must have a valid library card, no outstanding fines or overdues

Patron may not check out videos/DVD on card other than own

Loss or damage to video will result in payment of full price of video reimbursement plus $3.00 service fee to library

Fine for late videos will be $.30 per day/per video—Maximum fine $20.00 per video

The library is not responsible for any damage, which may occur to the patron’s DVD/VCR player as a result of using library materials.

Privileges to all library service will be canceled if rules are not obeyed; responsible party for children under 18(parent/guardian who signed permission form) will have privileges revoked as well as the child’s.
