1st Patron Card will be issued free. You must have a valid ID and current address all additional cards lost , stolen etc. will be $5.00
Children under 18 can be issued a Patron Card with a required Parent/Guardian signature.
DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE ELSE TO USE YOUR CARD!YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANY MATERIALS CHECKED OUT ON YOUR CARD.

Magazines - 2 Weeks
The following are limited to 5 each per household:
Videos, DVD's, Music CD's, Books on Tape and Books on CD.
Movies, DVD, VHS cannot be rechecked.
BORROWING, RETURNING, OVERDUE CHARGES
Return all library materials on time. You may renew up to 1 times in person, phone or by internet (unless the items are on reserve for someone else).
Fines of .05˘ a day are charged on late books, magazines, books on tape, CD and music on CD’s. Fines of $1.00 per day are charged on late video/ DVD's interlibrary loan materials.
If any materials are kept overdue more than 6 weeks, the patron will not be allowed to check out anything else until all items are returned or paid for. The patron will also be responsible for paying for lost or damaged items. The first incident will be the face value of the item. The second incident will be the face value of the item and a $10.00 processing fee.
If fines and/or other charges of $10.00 or more are accrued, patron will not be allowed to check out anything else until balance due is paid.
COMPUTER AND INTERNET USAGE
Registration for computer use:
1. All registering computer users must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid borrowers card in good standing with the Jackson County Public Library
2. Parents may register their children for computer use
3. Users must read and agree to abide by the library's computer use policy
4. Users must have a signed computer use agreement form onfile with the Jackson County Public Library
Computer use and time limits:
1. Patrons must sign in and out at the Circulation desk to use computers.
2. The time limit for computer usage is 1 (one) hour perpatron.
3. Patrons may renew their access for an additional hour if no other patrons are waiting.
4. Patrons must relinquish their computer access promptly when their allotted time has expired.
5. If a patron is using the computer for leisure, and a student needs to utilize the computer for a class assignment or test, the patron must relinquish the computer to thestudent.
6. Pages of printing are 25 cents for colored, and 15 cents for black/white copies. Printers are empty of printer paper; patrons must request paper at the circulation desk and must pay forcopies at the circulation desk.
7. If patron is a student requiring an external floppy drive to access information, an external floppy drive is available for use in house and can be obtained at the circulation desk. Floppy disks can be purchased at the circulation desk for $1.00 per disk.
8. Patrons are cautioned not to violate copyright restrictions
E-mail accounts:
The library does not manage electronic mail accounts for patrons. Many sites on the internet provide free e-mail services to the public.
Internet acceptable use:
Internet providers strive to provide the widest possiblefreedom of expression for their uses. However, because this is an online community, basic standards of conducthave been set to build an environment that encourages communication. Communication that harms others is not allowed. Complaints received of threats or harassment of others will be grounds for denial of access to the internet through library computers. Illegal activities ARE NOT allowed. These include:
-- Violating copyright restrictions
--Conspiring to commit crimes
--Maliciously slandering or libeling an individual
--Conducting illicit transactions
--Using Jackson County Public Library's computing resources to hack into othercomputer systems
Suspicion of illegal activities will result in the suspension of a user's privileges; proof of wrongdoing will result in the termination of a user's privileges. Abuse of theLibrary's computing resources-including another's password or account, breaking into restricted areas of the system, accessing other user's private files or using theLibrary‘s computing resources to distribute malevolent software such as computer viruses-, is grounds for immediate suspension and/or termination of all user’s access privileges.

The library cannot guarantee to censor access to material nor protect users from offensive information. Parents of minor children must assume ultimate responsibility fortheir children's use of the internet through the library's connection.
Library staff cannot control the availability of informationlinks which often change rapidly and unpredictably. Not all sources on the internet provide accurate, complete, orcurrent information. Users need to be good information consumers; questioning the validity of the information. Jackson County Public Library assumes no responsibilityfor any damages, direct or indirect, arising from use of internet services.
VIOLATIONS OF THESE PROCEDURES AND POLICIESWILLRESULT IN THE SUSPENSION OF COMPUTERUSEPRIVILEGES.PATRONS WILL BE HELDRESPONSIBLE FORALL DAMAGES OR ALTERATIONSTOHARDWARE OR SOFTWARE, OR ANY OTHERFINANCIAL LOSS THEY MAYCAUSE FROM THEIRUSEOF THE LIBRARY'S COMPUTER
