Eligibility:	When coming into the library to request a library card, patrons must present a current valid photo ID and proof of current address. There is no charge for a library card if you live within the city limits of Leander. Outside the city limits, there is a $15 charge for an individual card. If you wish to have more than one card, there's a $25 charge for the entire family. Youth fifteen and under must have parent/guardian responsible party with a Leander Public Library card. Cards will expire one year from the date they are issued and can be renewed by presenting a current photo ID.
Renewals:	Patrons may renew materials by bringing them into the library or using our online catalog. Items on hold may not be renewed.
Returns:	Materials may be returned inside the library or in the outside return.
Overdue Materials:	Overdue notices are sent through the mail or via e-mail.
Loan Policy:	The loan period for books, books on tape, and book CDs is three weeks. The loan period for videos and DVDs is two weeks.
Fines and Fees:	Fines are .50 cents per day for DVDs and videos and .10 cents per day for all other material. Damaged materials are handled on a case by case basis.
Lost Items:	Replacement cost of the item plus a $ 6.00 service fee is charged for lost items. You may purchase the item and bring it in to not be charged the service fee. Overdue materials are considered lost after 45 days overdue. Bills are then sent and due upon receipt. Borrowing privileges are suspended until all outstanding charges have been resolved.
Interlibrary Loan:	Up to five items per week may be requested by patrons. A fee of $2.50 per item to help pay for postage is charged for each title requested and must be paid at the time the item is picked up.
