Thanks to a generous donation by Joe and Karla Moose, the Pere Marquette District Library Endowment Fund will establish the Joe Moose Memorial Fund with proceeds of the auction of Joe's Nilescraft boat. Joe purchased this boat in 1957. The boat was built in Niles Michigan and was completly restored in the late 1990's. In 1998 the boat participated in the Les Cheneaux Islands Antique Wooden Boat Show. This is a beautiful boat. Joe loved it and took very good care of it.

Joe had strong connections to the Clare area. Joe served as a number of years as a Clare County Commission and Karla worked as a nurse supervisor at the Clare Osteopathic Hospital. Karla's parents, Ron and Donna Cooper reside in the City of Clare.

Joe passed away over the summer. His donation of this beautiful boat will allow us to establish the Joe Moose Memorial Fund as part of the PMDL Endowment Fund. A fitting way to honor Joe's memory and love of his community for many years to come.
