What you need to get a library card

What do you need to get a library card?

If you live in the district of the Pere Marquette District Library which includes the City of Clare, Grant Township (Clare County), Vernon Township (Isabella County), or Wise Township (Isabella County) all you need is your valid drivers license with current address to apply for a library card. If you don't have a valid drivers license, PMDL also expects a valid Michigan ID, or utility bill as proof of address.

COMPASS Partner Libraries:

Library Partners:
Chippewa River District Library
Coleman Area Library in Coleman
Mt. Pleasant High School Media Center (MPHS)
Pere Marquette District Library in Clare
Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Libraries
Surrey Township Public Library in Farwell

GOAL: To increase opportunities for all residents of the community, including the under-served, to access and borrow materials including fiction, nonfiction, bestsellers, news items, popular trends, and general information in a variety of formats.

PMDL will honor patron cards from any COMPASS Partner Library with the exception of the MPHS and the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Academy Library.

The Pere Marquette District Library offers a non-resident library card to people living outside of the district or the areas served by other COMPASS Partner Libraries. The cost is $100.00 per household/per year.
