Please join us for a special author visit on Wednesday, October 7th. PMDL will welcome Michigan Reads! author Deborah Diesen. Deborah's book "Pout Pout Fish" was selected as the 2009 Michigan Reads! title.
The Michigan Reads! Program seeks to highlight the importance of reading and sharing books with children, especially toddlers through early elementary, and to recognize the vital role of libraries which provide access to quality books, programs and services to children and families that lay the foundation for reading and school success.
The Pout-Pout Fish is a fun, rhyming picture book about a gloomy fish who discovers that being glum isn't really his destiny. Bright ocean colors, playful language, and engaging characters make the story perfect for sharing at home or at school. Children of all ages love Mr. Fish's transformation from a pout-pout fish to a kiss-kiss fish, and the story of The Pout-Pout Fish is all-but-guaranteed to turn a cranky child's pout (or even a grown-up's pout!) upside down.
Deborah will be doing 2 programs on Wednesday, October 7th. 10:30 a.m. for preschool children and 12:30 p.m. for first grade students.
Please post your best pout on PMDL facebook page!
