Library Reopening Plan

Starting June 1st the library will begin partial opening with limited services and curbside still provided.

Curbside ONLY will be offered Mondays from 1:00-5:00 and Thursdays from 1:00-6:00.

Entry to the library will be available on Tuesdays from 1:00-6:00 and Fridays from 1:00-5:00. The public computers, the restrooms, the reading room, kids’ toys/games and the makerspace will remain closed to the public.


The number of patrons in the library at one time will be limited to 10. Anyone who is feeling sick is asked to stay home. Those visiting must practice social distancing of maintaining 6 feet distance from others and partake in good hygiene. Please use hand sanitizer upon entry to the library. Masks are also encouraged but not required. We ask patrons to limit their time spent in the library and keep their visit to 15 minutes or less. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All returns must be dropped off in the drop box. DO NOT set returned items on the circulation counter. We will be increasing our disenfecting of surfaces, and returned library books and DVDs will be set aside for 1 week to allow for decontamination.

For those using curbside please e-mail us at northwoodlibrary@mchsi.com, send a Facebook message, or call 324-1340 and leave a message on the library answering machine include your book requests along with your name and time & date for pickup.

Please check the library’s website for availability of books or tell the librarian what authors or books you like, and we will help pick out books for you. Books returned the same day will not be available for checkout until the next week to allow for decontamination.

The librarian will check out the books to you and have your bag waiting for you. When you arrive at your designated time, the librarian will bring the books out to your car for you. Please REMAIN in your car.

All fines and overdue fees will continue to be waved during this time. We do ask that if possible you return items in a timely manner so that others might use them, but again no charges will incur at this time. And remember returned books should be placed in the book drop.
