Welcome to Kid Zone!


The Children's Department of Nueces County Public Libraries serves the recreational reading and research needs of children and young adults, ages birth to 12 years, with a collection of over 30,000 books and audio CDs, including items in Spanish and bilingual (English/Spanish) books. Children's DVDs are also available.

Kids Resources & Fun

The Nueces County Public Libraires offer a variety of resources for children that includes interaction with the Internet from homework help to fun and games. If you need any help please ask a Librarian or front desk staff.


Pop Pop's Place

Pop Pop's Place is a children's place at the Keach Family Library filled with a collection of books in Spanish and bilingual books.  A parent collection is also available for caregivers, grandparents and parents to browse and engage in thier child's early literacy. We provide programs and services for children to teach them about creativity, reading and learning is fun! 


Laura A. Chapa Toddler Learning Center

Our activity room benefits babies and toddlers ages 0-5 years old. An area where parents can play with thier young ones and interact with other parents. Come by the Keach Family Library and have a play date with other parents and their young ones as they play with educational toys.  Toddler Time and Preschool Time are in this area on Mondays and Wednesday. Summer Reading Program

Our Summer Reading Program starts around June and ends mid July.  We encourage all age groups to join our Summer Reading Program to enhance literacy skills and have fun at the library!
