Calling all Storytellers! DISCUS introduces SmartSearch

The South Carolina State Library is pleased to announce the unveiling of a new all-in-one search option for its DISCUS databases. SmartSearch will now search multiple DISCUS databases from a single search box, rather than having to pick a database first. Try it out now at www.scdiscus.org by using the trial located at the lower left. Starting Monday, March 15th, SmartSearch will be LIVE!

Job Fair at Shaver Complex in Seneca

Worklink and the OCPL have partnered to make employment information available to county residents. Check out the Job Fair on April 20th at the Shaver recreation Complex in Seneca! There's more information here, as well as a list of things to bring and how to prepare for interviews.

Plans for new Seneca Library made public!

Another leap forward! In 2009 the School District of Oconee County donated land for the proposed site for the new Seneca Library. The site is near the SDOC's new Blue Ridge Elementary School on Oak Street. After getting approval from the Library Board, the architect made available the drawings of the new library. You can see them at the current Seneca Library!

Let's Talk About It book discussion, Spring 2010

UPDATE: The series for Let's Talk About It, Spring 2010 edition, has been modified. The remaining date is April 22nd. The theme will be "Contemporary Readings." It will still be held at the Seneca branch.

Let's make sure EVERYONE gets counted. It does so much for our community. From February 28th to mid April, a representative of the US Census will be available at the Walhalla Main Library from 3-6 PM Monday through Friday to answer any questions you may have about the census. If you have questions about the forms or about what will be done with your information, our representative will be here to answer them.
