Food for Fines
The Orland Free Library is offering patrons with overdue fines a "Food for Fines" amnesty November 16th-December 14th. Patrons with outstanding fines for overdue materials may have their fines erased by donating canned and non-perishable food items. For each item or can of food, the library will deduct $1 from overdue fines.
All donations received will be given to the Orland Pantry for the Christmas Food Boxes which are distributed to Orland, Hamilton City and Capay community members who are in need.
Bills for lost or damaged library items are not eligible for the "Food for Fines" program. The library does not accept home-canned items, items that are past their expiration date or are dented or damaged, or cans with bar codes that have been lined or scratched through. Questions? Contact the library at 865-1640.
