The Special Collections area of the Pomona Public Library contains thousands of items relating to California, Pomona, and local and regional history. Special Collections Staff regularly answer inquiries from all over the United States and the world.
Some of the more significant materials housed in Special Collections include:
Californiana - over 3,000 books pertaining to California History
Frasher Photos - approximately 60,000 prints and negatives
The Laura Ingalls Wilder Collection - Little House on the Prairie manuscripts, letters, photographs
Citrus Box Labels - approximately 4,200 labels, the largest collection of any public library in the nation
Padua Theater/Mexican Players Collection - playscripts, scores, photos, theater programs and artifacts
The Clara Webber Collection of Historic Children’s Books
The Special Collections room is located on the lower level of the Pomona Public Library. Special Collections materials do not circulate and must be examined in the Special Collections room. A photocopying machine and film and fiche readers are available for use. Photographic reproductions of negatives and prints contained in the collection may be obtained for a fee.
