We are now able to offer Wi-Fi hotspots! Users (ages 18 and older) with a Portland Public Library card that has been active for at least 30 days may borrow a FREE hotspot. The loan period for hotspots is 7 days, and if there is no wait list, they may be renewed for an additional 7-day period. Hotspot holds and check-outs are limited to one per household. Children's Programs
May 3rd – Read with a Dog. Schedule an appt. between 2:30 & 4:30. Call 615-325-2279
LAPSIT – FOR KIDS UNDER 3 (Friday mornings at 10:30am)This program is for infants and toddlers under age 3 and their caregivers (older siblings allowed to attend/participate when necessary). The program lasts around 30 minutes. It includes books/stories, lots of songs, nursery rhymes, and fingerplays.
May 5th – Cinco De Mayo! Let's count to 5 in English & Spanish. Stories, music, rhymes, & more!
May 12th – It's all about moms today, with a strawberry thrown in! Rhymes, songs, & books.
May 19th – Visit the Zoo...Zoo animals & animal sounds! Songs, rhymes, and books.
May 26th – Wolves - somehow they are always the bad guy! Stories, rhymes, and songs.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME for 3 to 5 year olds (Wednesday mornings at 10:30am)
May 3rd – Axolotl and other weird creatures! Stories, music, movement, & a coloring page.
May 10th – It's all about mom today (and a strawberry)! Songs, activities, and make mom a card.
May 17th – It's a whale of a tail! Stories & facts about whales. Join us for stroies, music, and coloring.
May 24th – Are you crabby? Facts & fun. Movement and a crab project.
May 31st – NO PROGRAM TODAY
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM for Kindergarten & Older (Wednesday Afternoons at 3:30pm)
May 3rd – Axolotl alphabet book – lots of weird animals in the world. Plus, games & giggles!
May 10th – SPECIAL STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL WEEK STORYTIME! (ALL AGES WELCOME)
May 17th – Whale letters and letter writing
May 24th – Are you crabby? Show up today to find out if we're talking about crustaceans, a food item, or a BAD attitude (the younger kids will have stories about crustaceans, but maybe not this age group. That's all we will say about that!

Fellowship of the Teens for Middle & High Schoolers (Thursdays 4:00-5:00pm)
May 4th – May the 4th be with you!
Join us from 4:00-5:45 for a screening of "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" in the community room. Costumes are WELCOMED & ENCOURAGED!
May 11th – Game Day!
Hang out with your friends and play card games. We will meet in the Teen Space at 4:00 & walk to the green area by Cold Springs School. In case of bad weather, we will move the program inside.
May 18th – Graduation/End of the School Year Party
We'll celebrate our recent graduates and the end of the school year in the community room. You made it through the 2022-2023 school year!
May 25th – Song Trivia
Join us at 4:00 in the Teen Space for song trivia.
Adult Programming
Bingo
Every Tuesday @ 1:00 in the Community Room: Join in the fun of friendly competition as Ms. Vicki calls out the numbers, and the race is on to yell out “BINGO.” There will be candy and snack prizes for the winner. The last game of the day is the “Cover All” where the winner walks away with a gift card!
Genealogy Club
Saturday, May 6th @ 10:00am in the Community Room: Join Paula for show & tell! She will be bringing her grandfather's ledger to show. What will you bring?
Veteran’s Representative
Wednesday April 5th 1:00 to 3:00pm in a Study Room:
A rep from the Sumner County Veteran’s Service Office will be available to help any veteran or veteran’s spouse with questions or filling out of forms. No appointment necessary. First come, first serve basis.
Page Turners Book Club
Thursday, May 18th 11:30 – 1:00pm in the Community Room: Patricia and her group will be discussing Fanny Flagg's "The Whole Town's Talking." Flagg tells the story of Lordor Nordstrom, his family, and neighbors.
Family Events
Tuesday, May 9th @2:30 – Special Strawberry Festival Week Craft! This month we can take adults & children 8 and up. There is a class limit of 15 people, so sign up today! Sign-ups are REQUIRED.
