We are now able to offer Wi-Fi hotspots! Users (ages 18 and older) with a Portland Public Library card that has been active for at least 30 days may borrow a FREE hotspot. The loan period for hotspots is 7 days, and if there is no wait list, they may be renewed for an additional 7-day period. Hotspot holds and check-outs are limited to one per household. Children's Programs   


LAPSIT – FOR KIDS UNDER 3 (Friday mornings at 10:30)
These are programs for infants and toddlers under age 3 and their caregivers. The program lasts around 30 minutes. It includes books/stories, lots of songs, nursery rhymes and fingerplays (older siblings are allowed to attend/participate when necessary).


February 2: It’s Groundhog Day: Stories, rhymes, & songs about groundhogs . . . plus stickers!

February 9: It's almost Valentine's DayValentine’s Day is just around the corner, so that’s our theme for today.

February 16: In Honor of Presidents’ Day: Stories about animals in the White House. Songs, rhymes, and stickers.

February 23: Wheels of the Bus: Stories, songs, finger-plays, & stickers!

February 7: It's Send a Card to a Friend Day - Post office stories and we’ll make a card!

February 14: It's Valentine's Day - Stories, songs, and crafts and love & Valentine’s Day.

February 21: Let's Talk About Presidents - Stories & facts about US Presidents. Songs, movement, & a coloring page.

February 28: Chugga Chugga Choo Choo: - Train stories today. We’ll sing, dance, and color!

February 21Week 4 STEAM Book Club: The Secret GardenChapters 7 & 8. Projects: Make an Anemometer (Engineering) and Make a Flip Book (Art).

Teen Programs for middle & high schoolers (Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm)

February 1:  Let’s Talk Books (or Whatever) - The goal of Book Talks is to share favorite books so that students can learn about titles recommended by their peers. It is also a great low-pressure way to practice making connections, an important skill.  However, if you are not a book reader you can tell us about something else: a game, a television show, a podcast, etc . . .

February 8: Chain Reaction - Craft Sticks Individually or with a team you will use craft sticks to create a chain reaction/explosion.

February 15Villians-tine Day -  Dress up as a villain & make anonymous card for a friend at the program today!

February 22Video Game Day - Ready, Set, Who’s the Best!  The library will supply games and gaming supplies for today.

February 29: Bird Feeders - Making a dream catcher is a great way for you to show off your creativity, and help relieve anxiety at bedtime by hanging one in your bedroom.

NEW! Dungeons & Dragons: Friday, February 16th 3:30-5:00 - Join us for our D&D group! Both teens and college ages are welcome. Adult staff members will be leading and monitoring the program.


Adult Programs


Bingo: Every Tuesday at 1:00 PM

Join in on the fun of friendly competition as Ms. Vicki calls out the numbers, and the race is on to yell out "BINGO." Prizes awarded to winners.  


Veteran's Representative: Wednesday, February 15th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in a study room 

A rep from the Sumner County Veteran's Service Office will be available to help any vetran or veteran's spouse with questions or filling out forms.  No appointment necessary.  First come, first serve basis.


Genealogy Club: February 3rd at 10am

This month we will use the resources HathiTrust.org, google books, our library, or purchased books. Students will need to find and read (at least some) of the book and do a 3 minute report about the book when we meet on Feb 3rd for the beginning of our 7th anniversary year.


Crafts!: Tuesday, February 20th at 2:30 PM

Join us to make a cute craft!  All supplies provided. Sign up is required.


Page Turners Book Club: Thursday, February 15th at 11:30 AM
