The Russell County Historical Society is a non-profit organization in which the officers and staff are volunteers. The goal of the Russell County Historical Society is to collect and preserve the records of Russell County and material relating to its history.

Meetings for the Russell County Historical Society take place the second Thursday of each month in the conference room of the library.
