Holds may be placed on materials by the staff at patron request as follows:

• Holds may be placed on materials after the item is in the catalog.
• Holds for current popular items may only be placed at the patron's local branch.
• Holds may be placed on other items at other branches, but holds will be placed on a given title at only one other branch at a time.

The system is set to retain a patron on the holds list for 180 days, after which they are automatically removed.
