The Board of Trustees is comprised of five members, three members from Mecklenburg, the larger county, and two members from Lunenburg, the smaller county.   The trustees are appointed by the governing body (Board of Supervisors of the respective counties) chosen from the citizens at large with reference to their fitness for such office.   They are appointed for terms of four years and may serve two consecutive terms.

The regular meetings are held on the third Wednesday in the months of January, March, May, September and November at 2:00 pm at a location to be announced.    Meetings are open to the public.

The annual meeting, which is held for the purpose of the election of officers and the adoption of an annual report, is held at the time of the regular meeting in July of each year.
