Gr 9 Up-At Texas High School, boys are allowed to do whatever they want, while girls are subject to a sexist dress code, harassment and gross comments from boys. Fed up with the treatment, Vivian Carter follows in her mom's footsteps and starts a feminist zine anonymously. Soon, other girls are onboard, friendships are forged, and a revolution begins. Suzy Jackson brings her vast narration experience to Matthieu's book in a fun and fitting way. Her distinct voices fit well with the ages of the characters, and her intonations and narrative pace complement the author's well-developed plot and strong female characters. Addressing rape culture, the story encourages listeners to be strong and stand up for themselves. -VERDICT A highly recommended addition to any high school audiobook collection.-Jessica Moody, Granite School District, Salt Lake City © Copyright 2018.
