Stokes Brown Public Library, which serves all of Robertson County, is seeking to hire a Library Director.  This is a highly responsible professional position directing the overall operations and management of the library. The Library Director reports to a nine-member Library Board of Trustees appointed by the Robertson County Commission and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen of Springfield, Tennessee. Activities associated with the job include daily oversight of all library operations, overseeing the planning of outreach activities and weekly events, ordering materials and supplies, and interacting with library patrons. The position supervises a staff of 10 full-time and 19 part-time employees and manages an operating budget of $946,500. Stokes Brown Public Library is a Tennessee Level 5 library.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and completion of a Master’s Degree in Library Science is preferred, but not required. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience including 3 years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in a library, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the requirements of the position. Successful applicants are required to pass a background check.

Salary Range: Annual salary of $50,000 to $70,000 depending on qualifications. Stokes Brown Public Library provides health insurance and retirement plans for employees.
