Guitar Hero Starting Thursday November 5 STPL will have open play Guitar Hero every Thursday from 5 pm - 6 pm. We will be playing Guitar Hero 2 and Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock. Patrons 12 and up are welcome to join. Contact Summer at 989-588-9782 if you have any questions.

Storytime with Mrs. J Bring your preschoolers to Story Time with Mrs. J on November 14 at 1 pm. Story time will last from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please sign up at the front desk by stopping in or calling.
Holiday “Lights” Festival STPL will be part of the Holiday “Lights” Festival parade on Saturday November 14 at 5:30 pm. There will be activities throughout the day and evening. Reminder Surrey Township Public Library does not allow food (including candy) to be consumed inside the building unless it is during a special program. The only liquids allowed are ones in resealed containers. This is to protect library property. We appreciate your compliance. Thank you!
Tumble Book Library The Tumble Books Library is coming soon to our homepage! This is a free service that includes audio books, ebooks, storybooks, read-a-longs, puzzles, games, language learning, and more for your youngsters. You can preview these services by going to www.hlpl.com and clicking on the Tumble Books button in the lower right hand corner. Your library card number is not required.
Open Tech Session Got tech questions? Stop in on November 11 at 11 am or 4 pm for answers. Summer will be available for computer, printer, scanner, digital camera, cell phone, and software questions. Individual appointments can be set up at a more convenient time if you can not make this session. Sign up is not required.
Public Notice: Disclosure Surrey Township Public Library participates in a shared automation system with the CCoMPSS partner libraries. Patron records can be viewed for circulation purposes by the library staff of participating CCoMPSS libraries in accordance with the Michigan Library Privacy Act, MCL 397.604, et seq. A patron who is not in good standing at the CCoMPSS partner library will not be allowed to check out library materials from Surrey Township Public Library until good standing is restored.

1. How do I get a library card?
If you live in Surrey, Garfield, Freeman, or Lincoln townships just bring in your photo I.D. and we will sign you up. If you live in Grant or Gilmore township you would go to the Pere Marquette Public Library, but we will honor your card here. If you have a Harrison Public Library we will also honor your card here. Also, if you are a student at Farwell High School you can contact Mrs. Petosky in the library and she will help you get a card.
2. How many books/DVDs can I check out and for how long?
You can check out up to 50 books for a 3 week period. You can check out 2 DVDs for $1 each for up to a week.
3. How do I get books from other libraries?
TLC Go to www.stpl.org to begin your search. Search by title, author, or subject. A list of all the items relating to that search will pop up. We are partners with Clare, Coleman, CRDL (Isabella county libraries), and Tribal Libraries. Your materials will be coming from one of those. Click on the “place hold request” button next to the one you want All you need is your card number and password and where you want to pick your materials up. You will receive a phone call and email when they arrive.
MeLCat Go to www.stpl.org and click on the MeLCat symbol to begin your search. Search by title, author, or subject. A list of all the items relating to that search will pop up. Includes almost every library in Michigan. Click on the “place hold request” button next to the one you want All you need is your name, card number, and library your card is from. You will receive a phone call and when your materials arrive.
4. How do I get involved at my library?
There are many different programs for children, teens, and adults! For more information ask the front desk clerk next time you come in or pick up or newsletter. You can also check out the events coming up on our calender.
5. How do I get ahold of my library?
We realize that not everyone can come into the library when they need to. If you have any questions that we have not answered on the website feel free to email or call one of us. Go to the Library Info. purple tab and all of the information and numbers you will need are there as well as our hours. |
