Library Information - Loan Periods

Children’s Books, Books on Tape, CD’s, & Most Adult Books
Most of the library’s collection may be borrowed for 3 weeks at a time and may be renewed twice (only once by phone), if there are no holds on the item.  There are a few exceptions, as noted below.

Videos/DVD’s
Videos and DVD’s circulate for seven days.  Each patron is limited to four videos/DVD’s at a time.  They may be renewed one time for an additional 2 days.  Children may check out videos/DVD’s only if there is a signed permission on file from their parents.

Test Books
Test books may be borrowed for 3 weeks at a time and may be renewed twice if there are no holds on the item.

New Books
Patrons are limited to 20 new fiction books and 10 new non-fiction books at a time. Some popular adult New Books are checked out for two weeks, in order to keep them circulating faster.  They may be renewed once if there is no hold on the item.

Holds
If the item you are looking for is checked out, you may place a hold on it for a nominal fee.  The staff at the circulation desk can do this for you, or you can do it yourself from the online catalog.  No holds may be placed on videos or DVD’s. You will receive a notice when the item is available for you.
