Adult Summer Reading Program

Because why should kids get all the fun?

For the first time, we are adding events for adults to our lineup of summer reading activities!  During the months of June and July, come enjoy our "Libraries Rock" programming series.  These events all tie in to the central theme of music, and range from concerts to movies to crafts. Guaranteed to povide an entertaining beak from hot summer days - join in the fun!

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

June 12 6pm
The Tar River String Quartet

Kick things off by sitting back and listening to a concert of classical music.

June 19 6:30pm
The Greatest Showman

Watch the box-office hit musical movie and enjoy free popcorn and lemonade,
or bring your own refreshments.

June 23 3:30pm 
Music and Mindfulness

Take a break with a series of stress-reducing activities set to a background of relaxing music.

June 26 6:30pm
The New Vester Praise Ensemble

Let the rafters ring! It's an evening of amazing choir music.

July 12 6:30pm
Stories That Sing

Book chat!  Read any book with a musical theme - fiction or
nonfiction - then come chat about it with other readers.

July 14 3:30pm
Family Fireside Singalong

Beat the heat with winter-themed fun. Enjoy tasty treats and sing along to old favorites.

July 17  2pm and 6pm
Birdsong Painting Party 

Embrace your inner artist!  Paint along with us and create a
bird-themed masterpiece to take home.

July 23 7pm 
Kaira Ba

Our grand finale: thrill to the beat of this West African fusion band.
(This is a Paul McRae Kushner memorial program)
