The Library sends a monthly flyer through the District 50'speachjar application. You can view any of the flyers on your teen's school website under the Quicklinks tab at the top right of the page. Just click on Peachjar and you can see our flyers along with others in the community!

You can also check out our programs below. All teen programs will take place in the Teen Center unless otherwise specified. Anime Club meets downstairs in the American Veterans Auditorium. You must be in Grades 6 - 12 to participate in Teen Programs. You can register for all programs online or in the Teen Center at the Main Library.

Our Collections:
  • Young Adult Fiction: Our primary collection. We focus on providing a selection of Young Adult Fiction that represents the diversity of our commuity. Genres include realistic fiction to fantasy and everything in between.
  • Young Adult Audiobook: We no long have physical Books on CD in the Teen Center, but you can also find eAudiobooks on the Library's Libby and hoopla apps.
  • Young Adult Graphics: Here you can find your comics and graphic novels. We are currently working to expand our comics collection, with newer volumes of Marvel, DC, and Dark Horse Comics. You can find the YA Graphics collection in the right most section of shelves against the outside wall of windows.
  • Young Adult Manga: Manga is an umbrella term encompassing comics and graphic novels originating from Japan. Parents of teens just getting into manga might want to check out this article, A Beginner's Guide to Manga, from the New York Public Library. This collection is located in the clear acrylic shelves in the back right corner of the Teen Center.
  • Young Adult Paperbacks: Paperback Classics that are located in the cubbies to the left of the TV.

Board Game Collection and Community Puzzle:

Come by and play any of our board games with your friends in the Teen Center or work on the community puzzle.

Board Games and puzzles CANNOT leave the Teen Center. Make sure to check out the Board Game Club if you are interested in meeting new players.

Adults and Children:

The Teen Center is a safe place for teens to read and socialize together. For that reason, only Teens* are allowed to hang out in the Teen Center. *A parent, guardian, or sibling are welcome to play a board game with a teen.

Adults and children under 5th Grade are allowed to come in for materials.

Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult or a teen who is 15 years or older.

Give a damaged book new life by using it's pages to create blackout poetry. Unlike typical poetry, blackout poetry is written by blacking out sections of an existing text. Choose which words to keep and use a sharpie to black out the rest, leaving a poem. We will show you some of our favorite examples to use as inspiration.

You will also have the option to use other media (such as colored pencils, paper, stickers, and more) to decorate the page. You can do one or several. We will have the option to display your blackout poem in the Teen Center.

Registration is required and opens March 26.
