Library Current Schedule

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library presently operates under the following schedule.  The operating schedule is 10 am - 3 pm, Monday, Wednesday & Friday & 1 pm - 6 pm, Tuesday & Thursday.  There is a limit of 15 patrons at a time effective Monday, March 1, 2021.  Masks or face coverings are recommended for people ages 5 and up.  Library staff will inform patrons of updated procedures when visiting.

Holiday Closing

  • The Library will be closed Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day.  The Library will reopen at 1 pm on Tuesday, July 6.  Library materials may be returned in the book drop.

Summer Learning Program Registration

  • Pre-registration begins Thursday, June 3 at 1 pm and continues during operating hours.  The theme of the program this year is "Tails and Tales".  The program starts on Thursday, June 10 and lasts through Friday, July 16 when reading logs are due for submission to the Library.  Weekly beginning Thursday, June 11, a sheet with suggested activities may be picked up at the Library and completed for additional prizes.  Contact the Library for more information.

Facebook Preschool Storytime

  • Library staff records a story with songs and fingerplay for broadcast weekly through the Facebook page of the Roanoke Rapids Parks and Recreation Department.  The story are usually posted late Wednesday morning.  A corresponding coloring page is available with the program.

NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has two new digital collections through OverDrive.  NC Digital and NC KIDS Digital can be accessed with a valid Roanoke Rapids library card and a PIN number.  Contact the Library for more information.

E-Book Program

  • Roanoke Rapids Public Library now has a collection of e-books for its patrons through NC LIVE.  The NC LIVE Homegrown E-book Collection has over 1,200 titles to chose and are provided with the cooperation of varied NC publishers.  While these titles are not many of the current best sellers, the Library is hoping eventually to expand our e-book collection.  Take a look by clicking the link on the home page in the lower right corner.  You must have a RRPL card to access the collection.  Contact the Library for more information.
